Areas of professional focus: sustainable development in (semi-arid) mountain areas, natural resource management in mountain areas, deforestation processes, highland-lowland interactive systems, irrigation systems in (semi-arid) mountain areas, energy supply & consumption in (remote) mountain areas agro-sylvo-pastoral land use systems in (semi-arid) mountain areas, pastoralism, integrated water(-shed) management
